Over 900 athletes compete each year in the middle school state track & field championships.

Ironton Middle School 7th Grade girls sprinter is off to a grand start to the season. On April 8th as she posted two good sprint times in her first ever middle school track and field meet.

Ironton Middle School 7th Grader Mckenzie Long, ran a stellar 100M in 12.5 and turned in another good performance in the 200M with a 27.5. Her older brother, Jacob, now a freshman, set school records last year as a 8th grader in 100, 200, 400. She seems more than ready to carry on the family tradition.

Hello again, I wanted to write you and let you know how Kenyon has done
since attending the youth runner middle school state meet. He competed
in the USA track junior Olympic state championships where he won 100m,
200m and the 400m races in the youth division. He then attended the
regional championships and won the 100m, 200m and 400m. He has
qualified to attend the USA Track Junior Olympics in Baltimore Maryland
July 23rd thru the 29th. I want to thank you for putting the middle
school meet on and giving him the confidence to move on to other meets.

Thank you,
Kolby Watson

Congratulations to you and your staff for putting on a first class meet Sunday despite the oppressive heat. This was the fourth time I have had athletes competing and this was the best organization, competition, etc. I have seen.

I trust all who were there were as appreciative as me in the great manner in which the meet was run.

It was a great event !!!! Enjoyed by the athletes, parents and coaches from Woodmore Schools. We had six athletes participate and it was very positive.

Thank you to all who put in your time and efforts.

I will be promoting this event for the athletes next year even though we are moving on to high school track!!!!

Happy Holidays to all involved.

Wanted to share my extreme gratitude about the track meet yesterday.
Staff very courteous and helpful.
In my opinion the main idea was to promote youth track and make sure the meet was run with the kids in mind first and foremost.
This was our first trip to this event for my daughter as well as other athletes from our school who registered individually. From all conversation with kids and parents , they were pleased.Enjoy the day after, it is well deserved.

Please try and keep the temperature and humidity down a few degrees in the future. Ha! Ha!

Thank you for allowing Shae to run in the championships today. She had a great time. She came up a little short of her goal of winning the 100 and 200 meter dash but coming in second in both is not too shabby for a 6th grader. Shae is already talking about next year where she plans to break the record! Thanks again.

Trent. Just wanted to let you know that the kids, parents and me and the other Allen East coach really enjoyed the meet Sunday.

Please pass along our thanks and congratulation on a well run meet to yourself and the other individuals who put the meet together.

Enjoy your summer.

The Middle School State Meet this weekend was very well run.  We have been bringing athletes to the event for the past four years and especially thought this year was the best due to the fact that you split the start times.  We thought the later time was nice so that you didnt set there all morning as well.  The M.S.A.A. continues to do what is good for kids and this event in my opinion has greatly helped our middle schoolers transition to big events in high school because they have been at an event with lots of prelims and waiting around to run.  Again, we at Green appreciate what the M.S.A.A. and Trent do to make this event run.

I think it went very well and very organized.  Great job to all of you and all your hard work that you put into doing this for all of our children.

The split division schedule was great. I thought things went very smooth and there was not near the parking issues this year.  Overall, I would say things went very well for the division 2/3 meet. The real time results were a nice addition as well. This is an excellent meet that allows our younger athletes to showcase their talents.

Dear Ohio Youth Runner,

Great event this past weekend.  We really enjoyed the watching the competition.  It was a good experience for my son.  Only suggestion for next year is to have more programs printed for the second session (D1).

Thanks again.  I hope you had the turnout you wanted.  We will spread the word in the Cleveland area.
